IDK Where To Start
When I first started my business, I was a hot mess!
I immediately jumped to visual branding, nailing down colors, slogans, and logo ideas was my daily obsession. Then I moved on event ideas, then blogging, then public speaking.
Then I started looking at eCommerce, then SEO, then funnels...
I had no idea what I was doing.
I thought by imitating the experts I'd seen online, that I could replicate their success for myself. I took few paid courses to steady myself, but even then I was prematurely reaching for strategies I wasn't ready to implement.
It literally took the first 3 years after starting for me to bump my head enough before I was finally on the right path.
The problem lasted so long for a few reasons.
A) I had no concept on how to use my experience to enhance my social presence online. B) I was overwhelmed by the sea of information I had gained from all the freebies on my desktop and webinars replays.
C) I wasn't plugged into a community of entrepreneurs to keep me accountable and D) I was focused on everything dealing with appearance and methodology instead of income generating activities.
If I had known where to start back then, I would be much further along by now! Though I do value the many lessons I learned along the way, because they made me a savvy business woman.
If you want an order of operations to get started in your business, here it is!
- Your expertise
- Your branding Identity (offerings, standards of excellence, etc.)
- Mastery over sales
- Marketing & content strategy
- Systems for your internal operations
It's important to note that though these are listed in a specific order, the work you put into each category is ongoing and will overlap continuously, so don't get stuck on marketing and never make it to visibility (remember, you can't know everything!)
